For this project we worked directly with Children's Behavioral health institute in Fresno to help them redesign their waiting area. I collaborated on this design with a fellow student and friend, Lyzette Galvez. Our design was centered around brining nature into the space because it is shown to improve the mood and mental health of all humans. The giant tree was a design solution to camouflage an existing beam that could not be taken out. By utilizing this beam to create a design feature, we were able to keep the existing floorpan and do something fun with the space. We presented our project to the Staff and owners and after deliberation they chose to implement our design out of 5 other groups.
